Every time I turn around somebody's talking about San Antonio being such a "fat city." Is this also a problem for our pets?

Many veterinarians have expressed concern over this growing problem, which they believe to be the single greatest health issue facing our pets. Just like their guardians, pets are also susceptible to heart and respiratory disease, diabetes and intestinal and joint inflammations. An estimated 25-45% of dogs and cats are overweight. My pets are strictly indoor members of the family, so why should I bother getting yearly vaccinations?

Not only are vaccinations required by law to protect your pets – and you – from a variety of dangerous and highly contagious diseases, but this annual trip to your vet also serves another very important purpose. The regular check-up performed during this office visit provides the opportunity to monitor your pet's well-being, to recommend preventative treatments, to discuss concerns about the health and behavior of Fluffy or Fido and to take care of city licensing – all in one annual visit.
